Joola Hyperion C2 : I'm a "senior" ~3.5 player. I chose the Hyperion C2 16mm CFS since I have been playing with a Joola Radius to minimize the transition. The hyperion does have more pop with lots of control. I did add a little weight and an overgrip. This paddle does all that I expected.
I think
Middle of the road for me: Great overall paddle, however, I've been playing with this for about 6 months and I do find it very poopy. I wish it was more about control but this seems to be more on the power side to me.
Hyperion C2 CFS 16: I love this paddle. My previous paddle was the earlier generation model, which I also liked but it cracked at the connection between the head and the handle. The C2 is a unibody construction and supposedly won't be as prone to breaking at the neck. I like the blend of touch, control and power of this paddle. It's just right for my style of play.
Joel’s Ben John’s Hyperion C2 CFS 16 paddle: Great paddle. Has nice touch around the net, is fast to cover smashes and has pl3nty of power.
Handle broke at 7 months: Great paddle until the handle breaks. 12 of us bought Joolas and they all broke at the same spot at the neck of the handle in the 7 to 9-month time frame. Joola told us all we were on our own, no guarantee after 6 months. We all switch back to Selkirk so we could get something that lasts.
Great Paddle!: Good spin, nice extra pop and light compared to the previous hyperion
JOOLA really knocked it out of the park with this one. Whether you're an advancing beginner, intermediate, or pro, this paddle seriously raises your performance. The heavy head weight can take getting used to, and I did feel a bit slower to react during some fast rallies. However, the increased power and precision I was getting on dinks, serves, and backhands made me forget these issues. For me, this is the best pickleball paddle ever designed. There's a reason Ben Johns' name is on it.
